Strasbourg, 27 February 2019
As part of the World NGO Day the Conference of International NGOs is holding a debate about the contribution of (I)NGOs to the mandate of the Council of Europe, namely, Human Rights, Democratic Governance and the Rule of Law. The intention is to share/transmit the key conclusions of this exchange to the Committee of Ministers at the 22 March meeting in Warsaw and/or the subsequent Ministerial session in Helsinki.
One of several effective ways the Conference of INGOs has been working are the Country Visits. Other ways are in the area od Civil participation in public decision making, Dialogues from Polarization to Participation (for more on this see this site), the Experts on NGO Law, Human Rights and Business as well as Migration.

World NGO Day was started in 2010 and aims to inspire people to become more actively involved within NGOs and encourage a greater symbiosis between NGOs and both the public and private sector. The universal concept of the World NGO Day is Celebrate, Commemorate and Collaborate the various NGOs around the world, and the people behind them.
World NGO Day is a day for NGOs around the globe to share knowledge and experiences with one another. It aims to educate individuals worldwide on NGOs and their impact. The World NGO Day provides an opportunity to honour and remember NGO founders, employees, volunteers, members and supporters.
